Well, it's moving day around here (at least, "moving-our-stuff-though-not-ourselves" day) but I thought I'd take a break while we're waiting for the truck to update everyone on how Baby is doing.
The word to describe Baby this week would be "wiggly." Baby is also very perceptive of the world around us. For instance, the other day Jon and I were getting up early to go somewhere, and when Jon woke tried to wake me up, I rolled over and insisted on ten more minutes of sleep. Baby, however, must be a better listener, and immediately started nudging and prodding me to get up, as if s/he were saying, "C'mon, Mom!! Dad says it's time to get up!!"
Baby definitely notices music, though I'm still not quite sure if his/her wiggling and flailing while listening to it means that s/he likes it, or is protesting it.
Baby has obviously been growing, as s/he seems to be getting pickier about how I position myself. Baby is not particularly fond of car trips right now, and often wriggles around trying to get comfortable if we're out for long drives (either that or s/he is dancing to or protesting the music!). Baby also feels the need to try to stretch out as much as possible whenever I'm sitting cross-legged. I suppose if my whole known world started collapsing in on me I might get kind of fiesty about it, too.
Around mealtimes Baby tends to get pretty active, too. It's funny because I'll just notice that I'm starting to get hungry, and Baby gets all wiggly as if s/he wants to eat, too. If wiggling = "Yum" then so far I've determined that Baby likes ice cream, mashed potatoes, and Mountain Dew. Hmmmmmm....
In other news, we picked up some cute onesies for Baby last week! I'm anxious to finally move into our new house so that I can finally start putting together Baby's nursery and organizing all these cute little things we've collected! I'm currently working on gathering nursery ideas (helped out a lot by a book sent to us by Jon's brother and his wife -- thanks!) and am excited about the possibilities!
